When It Comes Time To Hire A Wasatch Front
Exterior Contractor, Know What To Look For
Here Are The 3 Types Of Siding Installers You Might
Encounter & How To Choose The RIGHT One
When it comes to siding, you have quite a few options. When it comes to Wasatch Front siding installers, you still have options, but most of them are TERRIBLE.
That’s why we’ve put together this helpful guide to tell the great siding contractors from the…not so great.
From the quality of the workmanship to the attitude and service of the employees, the difference from one siding company to the next can be MASSIVE.
Here are 3 different types of siding installer you may encounter in the Salt Lake City area….
#1: The Amateur Handyman Installer
These guys are easy to spot. They typically won’t have professional-looking trucks or uniforms, and you’ll probably get the impression that it’s really a one-man operation with maybe a handful of scruffy-looking subcontractors.
When it comes to customer service, you’ll probably get their voicemail when you call them–not a good sign.
Because they are operating at more of an amateur level and likely without having mastered the material, they may BOTCH your siding installation.
This will totally void your warranty and leave your home susceptible to water damage and a host of other problems.
#2: The “Sleazy Salesman” Contractor
Much like the amateur handymen, the sleazy salesmen are not difficult to detect.
If you feel like you’re being pressured to buy something and that their end goal is to make a sale NOT solve your problem, don’t give them your hard-earned money.
This type of siding company motivates their sales personnel with often purely commission-based pay, so all they want to do is get your deposit and move on to the next homeowner.
Even if the product they’re selling is a good value–and because of the high commission, it probably isn’t–a company like that will take advantage of you the ENTIRE time you work with them.
You’ll likely have to pay WAY more than the value of their James Hardie fiber cement or vinyl siding, and their installation standards are usually substandard at best.
#3: The 5-Generation, Established PROFESSIONALS
While we can’t claim there’s more than one of us, there is one exterior remodeling company with a tried-&-true track record for giving their customers Only The Very Best in workmanship, products, and service.
In fact, we have a 5-generation, 70-year history serving Wasatch Front homeowners. During that time, we’ve built a great reputation as the exterior contractor you can trust to treat you and your home with respect.
A bad contractor can get by for a few years–maybe even a decade, but you only get to 70 years in the business by delivering excellent results and treating people with respect.
At RGS Exteriors, we have a proven, streamlined process for installing your vinyl or James Hardie siding the RIGHT way, so you get the full value out of your siding products and warranties.
