Our Consultants Are Educators
Our Consultants Are So Focused On Educating You
About Your Project, They Should Have Degrees
After Their Visit, You’ll Know Precisely What
Your Utah Home Needs And Why
Like most Utah homeowners, you probably don’t know exactly what your home’s exterior needs – you just know you don’t like what you see.
While many exterior home remodeling companies will take advantage of your confusion, our consultants are trained to teach you all you need to know about your home renovation project.
After all, pressuring someone into agreeing to a renovation they don’t fully understand is the fast lane to trouble.

Questions And More Questions
It’s not enough to just ask you what you want to do to your home. Exterior home renovations aren’t cheap, and you’ve likely been thinking about your project for months, if not years.
It’s only fair that we take the necessary time to ensure the project you want is the project you need.
We know that something set you on that path, and whether it was a wish for a new look or a problem you experienced with that part of your home, it’s something we need to learn. So, we ask probing questions to get at the source of your concerns.
Once we know what problem you’re trying to solve, we ask follow-up questions to better understand your tastes and desires.
- Are you planning to live in your home for much longer, or do you plan to flip it in the near future?
- Is there a certain look you want to incorporate into your design?
- Do you want low-maintenance materials or more natural ones?
- Do you want your home to stand out or blend in?
- What is a comfortable budget for you?
- How long must your warranty be?
With these answers and your preferred color palette, we are almost ready to develop a plan for your project. But first, we need to verify it’ll be the right project.
A Detailed Inspection Is A ‘Must Do’
The longest part of your first consultation is spent inspecting the area you want to renovate.
Our consultants know that the surface of a home’s exterior rarely tells the whole truth. So they spend a lot of time looking behind panels and moldings to ensure there will be no surprises during the project.
If your project is meant to solve an issue you’ve been having, your consultant will take the time to verify that what you want done will solve your problem.
They’ll also look at the areas adjacent to your proposed renovation and check for weak areas or damage that would impact our ability to complete the job.
Since we prefer to stick to our quoted prices, we do our best to find every potential problem and address them as part of the project.
Giving You The Information You Need
Once your consultant has a clear idea of what you need to accomplish your goals and a full understanding of those goals, they’ll go over everything they’ve found.
When they’re finished, you’ll know all about your new project, including:
- The source of your problem.
- How we will solve your problem.
- What materials we’ll use and why.
- Which products best fit your budget.
- Generally, what your design will look like.
- What to expect during the initial design phase.
- How much the project will cost, and what products will be used.
Our quotes are always detailed and name the exact manufacturers and products we’ll use on your exterior home remodel.
RGS Exteriors consultants have one job above all others – to get you to the point that allows you to make an informed decision.
If you sign right away, excellent!
If you need time to think, excellent!
Selling work is always nice, but your consultant’s most important job is to educate and advise.
Once it’s clear that all questions have been answered and you have a good idea of what you need and why, your first visit will be almost complete.
The last bit of information you’ll receive is a list of ways to vet exterior home contractors. You’ll learn what to look for in a contractor and which factors are red flags that should send you running the other way.
When your consultant walks away from your door, you’ll know what your project should be, what materials and products will give you top value, how much a top-notch renovation will cost, and how to spot a quality contractor.
Even if you decide to go another way, we’ll know that you did so with your eyes wide open – and that’s all that matters to us.
