Our Core Values Guide Every Step We Take

And Drive Our Constant Quest For Perfection

Everyone in Utah understands that it’s difficult to get through life unless you have a good understanding of who you are and what you believe. That’s no less true for companies and goes double for the exterior home renovation business. A contracting business that doesn’t have a sense of who they are is a business that will fail. Happily, we’ve known exactly who we are since we first started back in the 1950s.

Our Guiding Principles

Since our beginning, way back when rock ‘n’ roll was being invented, we’ve known that the only distinction that counted was giving customers a high value and a pleasant experience from beginning to end.

Many contractors would have agreed with our assessment, but to most of them, “the end” came as soon as their tail lights were out of the homeowner’s line of sight. We felt then, and still do to this day, that high value was the key to a customer’s experience, which meant a product and installation that would last for decades. And that’s been the ideal that has shaped our core values over the last 60+ years, such as:

  • Either it’s done right, or it isn’t done. No exceptions!
  • Treat everyone, customers AND employees, with respect.
  • Offer/use only the best products available.
  • Always vet products before offering/using them.
  • Always follow manufacturer recommendations.
  • Never agree to do half measures.
  • Never build over previously hidden problems.
  • Always keep your promises.
  • Never ever leave your customers in the dark.

So far, we’ve done a good job of living up to our expectations, and we make sure that they always exceed the expectations of our customers.

One Way – The Right Way

We believe strongly in doing everything the right way or not doing it at all. We follow all manufacturer recommendations when we install our products on a customer’s home unless we feel those recommendations don’t go far enough.

For example, in James Hardie’s massive 130-page installation manual, it is recommended that we use some paper or cloth flashing between siding joints.

Well, cloth can tear, and its colors fade, making the space less secure and visible to passersby. So, instead of cloth, we use specially treated rolled metal strips that match the siding color.

It simply didn’t make sense to us to use a flashing product that couldn’t possibly last as long as the siding. This flashing will never move or fade, so it adds tremendous value to our installation.

We also manufacture our own fascia, flashings, custom soffit, and metal wrap material because everything available on the market is too flimsy to meet our exacting performance standards.

RGS Exteriors Standards

Everything we install is a product that offers the best value we can find or, in some cases, manufacture for our customers.

James Hardie was the obvious choice for fiber cement siding since their name has been synonymous with fiber cement siding since the 1980s.

For those who don’t want to invest in fiber cement siding, we offer the best vinyl siding on the market. And we only offer triple-pane windows because they out-perform double-pane windows significantly, but we found a way to offer them at double-pane prices.

Whatever product we offer, you can be assured that they offer the best value possible and have been thoroughly vetted by our experts. But our sky-high standards don’t stop at our products.

We are also very careful about who we hire to install our products. They must be clean-cut, respectful, and carry their own high-level work ethic with them when they walk into our doors.

We even hold our customers to high standards. We will never agree to do a job that doesn’t properly address your problems with your home, and will never agree to half measures or corner-cutting to lower our quote.

We want only customers who are interested in long-term permanent solutions that we are comfortable backing with our industry-leading 10-Year Workmanship Warranty. That’s why we will always alert you and offer a solution if we find a problem, like water damage, mold or wood rot, during the installation process.

What we won’t do is simply cover it up and hope it holds.

Customer Experience

We consider our customer’s experience throughout their home renovation project to be a big part of the value we provide homeowners. Our initial visit to your home is a consultation with zero stress and zero pressure to buy, with quotes that are good for 30 days. We don’t play games with one-day discounts or twofer deals that aren’t real.

Our goal is to empower you to be able to make an informed decision. And if you decide to partner with us in your exterior home renovation, we continue to treat you with respect.

At no time will you wonder what is going on because you’ll be kept informed every step of the way. And when the project is complete, and you’ve had some time to enjoy your new windows, siding, or other product, we contact you one last time to ask for your opinion on the entire experience.

At RGS Exteriors, our customers are family, and we will always give them our best effort without fail.

If all this sounds like your kind of company and you need exterior work done on your Salt Lake City area home, contact us at RGS Exteriors for a free estimate.
